LPG Distribution ERP: A Use Case

How an LPG distribution business can benefit from a custom ERP — cylinder tracking, delivery management, inventory, and financial reporting in one system.

LPG distribution looks simple from the outside — fill cylinders, deliver them, collect payment. In practice it involves multiple regions, a network of dealers, returnable assets that must be tracked and strict safety and accounting requirements. We built a custom ERP for GasMan Pakistan to bring these pieces into one platform.

The challenge

  • Cylinders are returnable assets — knowing where each one is, and who owes what, is essential.
  • Dealers, drivers and head office each need a different view of the same operation.
  • Delivery routes and transport need to be planned and tracked across regions.
  • Invoicing and reporting must reflect real activity, not yesterday’s spreadsheet.

What the system covers

  • Dealer management and dealer portals.
  • Cylinder tracking across the distribution chain.
  • Delivery logistics and transport tracking.
  • Invoicing and financial reporting.
  • Real-time operational reporting for management.

Why custom

Off-the-shelf ERPs are built around products that are sold once. Returnable cylinders, dealer-level balances and route-based delivery do not map cleanly onto them. A custom system let the business model its real workflow instead of adapting to a template.

What changes for the business

A single source of truth replaces separate spreadsheets and phone calls. Management sees the current position instead of waiting for month-end, dealers get a clear view of their own accounts, and the team spends less time reconciling and more time serving customers.
