Five areas to assess before investing in new software: processes, data, people, connectivity and compliance.

Before investing in new software, it helps to know how ready the organisation is to adopt it. This checklist is a practical way for businesses in Pakistan to assess digital readiness across five areas.

Processes

  • Are your key processes written down and understood by more than one person?
  • Do you know which steps cause the most delay or rework?

Data

  • Is important data stored in one place or scattered across files and chats?
  • Is it accurate enough to base decisions on?

People

  • Is there an owner for the project on the business side?
  • Are staff prepared for training and a period of change?

Technology and connectivity

  • Is internet and hardware reliable at every site that will use the system?
  • Do you have a plan for backups and power interruptions?

Compliance

Identify the tax, reporting and data-handling requirements that apply to your sector early, so they shape the design instead of being added at the end.

Using the results

Where you answer “no” or “not sure”, that is where to begin — often with process clean-up rather than software. We are happy to run this assessment with you as part of a discovery session.
